TBR HITS A MAJOR MILESTONE
It’s hard to believe. It seemed like yesterday when we began this journey together. With this September/October 2022 expanded “Ancient Mysteries” edition of THE BARNES REVIEW, TBR hits its 28th anniversary. It’s an amazing milestone in independent publishing, and it’s all thanks to one man—prolific nationalist publisher Willis A. Carto. Without his vision, this magazine would never have begun, let alone succeeded. This issue is dedicated to Willis, whose interest in things historical went way beyond “the Jewish Question” or World War II Germany. Willis was intrigued by almost everything, from pygmies to porcupines, and peonies to Papuans.
Many people thought this magazine would fold when Willis died on October 25, 2015—seven short years ago. But the concept was just too strong. Who wouldn’t want to hear about the “other side” of history, one not tainted by political correctness, one written not by the victors of wars, but by the losers, so to speak—a previously silenced choir. Surprisingly, the answer is that lots of people don’t like the truths contained within TBR. It’s why so many groups have joined forces over the decades to destroy it, from George Soros-funded anti-free speech groups to powerful hate peddlers such as the Anti-Defamation League and the Southern Poverty Law Center and more.
We’ve even been attacked by supposedly like-minded “allies” in the Revisionist movement. “You’re too honest. You talk about the holocaust. That is a no-win topic. You don’t have enough footnotes. Your writers aren’t all trained at university,” they chide. And to them we reply, “Stick it.” All have failed to slow us down—and our writers are the most courageous scholars one will find on this planet. In this issue we have assembled an abundance of articles and items that should intrigue any curious person. Special thanks go to author Marc Roland who accepted the task of assembling much of the material found in these pages. It was a Herculean task, and he accomplished it efficiently and professionally—and all of it for your historical edification.
Understand, though many people love TBR, the battle to keep this organization alive has not been an easy one. We are always in need of financial help. That comes in the form of subscriptions, book purchases and donations. Please take a look at the enclosed catalog and also the ads in this issue. Most of them are ancient history related, but our catalog is loaded with all kinds of books discussing all eras of history. Note: We encourage you to purchase extra copies of this special expanded “Ancient Mysteries” edition of TBR to distribute. It would make a great gift. At this size, it contains the same number of words as a 250-page book! Prices: 1-24 copies are $15 each; 25-34 copies are $13 each; 35-49 are $12 each; 50 or more are $11 each. Please call 202-544-5977 to order. —PAUL ANGEL, Executive Editor
