A TIME FOR GIVING
It’s Thanksgiving and Christmas time again, and we have a wonderful gift for you: another issue of THE BARNES REVIEW history magazine. I know you will find this edition—the last of 2022—to be full of fascinating, uncensored information that will stimulate your cerebrum.
This issue we lead off with an article by Karl Haemers detailing the attempted suppression of Christmas celebrations in the past, starting with the Puritans of the 1600s and ending with attempts by Dr. Anthony Fauci and other Covid-crazed bureaucrats to prevent Christians from celebrating one of our two holiest days of the year. While the Puritans objected to raucous jollifications during Christmastime, considering too much drinking and gift-giving an abomination worthy of a fine, imprisonment or a stern lecture, Fauci and his heavy-handed overlords were trying to prove a bigger point: your First Amendment rights under the Constitution of our republic are not guaranteed to you by God, but by the state, and that those rights can be “abridged” at any time deemed an “emergency.”
Even your right to “peaceably assemble” and worship is at the whim of our overlords. However, as you will see, though both the Puritans and the CDC tried, the spirit of Christmas and the desire to worship won out. Increasingly popular French-Canadian author Rémi Tremblay offers us an inside glimpse at the art of painting during the Third Reich. Many believe Adolf Hitler only sanctioned “Nazi propaganda” pieces, but they are wrong. There were many painters working who were not part of Hitler’s regime, and their creativity was encouraged, not stifled—unless, of course, it was the degenerate art of the Weimar period. We also hear from Dr. Matthew Raphael Johnson about the political thinking of Aleksandr Dugin of Russia, whose daughter was killed recently by a car bomb meant for him, allegedly placed by a Ukrainian assassination team. Dugin’s views are important because he believes that the liberal political system of the increasingly secular, possession-hoarding West was not created for the people of Russia and Eurasia, and that such a system is anathema to them. Intransigent liberals, he says, see the East as backwards and barbarous, a region that must be subdued and “enlightened.” After you read this article, you will have an idea why Dugin was targeted.
The corruption and politicization of the FBI is again in the news as the Biden administration further weaponizes that U.S. law enforcement agency against the people, particularly conservatives. But, as investigator and author Pat Shannan tells us, this is really nothing new. He presents a short but shocking history of the modern FBI and its underhanded operations. Haemers appears again to give us the uncensored history of the for-profit medical industry and the men behind it. John Wear recounts the Soviet inspired Morgenthau Plan. Antonius J. Patrick graces us with a review of one of anti-Communist priest Denis Fahey’s most politically incorrect works, while historian Marc Roland continues his quest to prove Europeans were in America millennia before even the Vikings with an examination of the effigy mounds of the American Midwest. BY KARL HAEMERS In the 1600s, the Puritans, whose main goal was to purge or purify the Protestant Church of England of all Catholic influence, set sail for new lands. In both the Old and New World, they loathed Christmas celebrations, considering exchanging of gifts and Yuletide greetings a satanic sacrilege. Fast forward 400 years and we find that Puritans aren’t the only ones who hate Christmas.
