9.4 Million “Asylum Seekers” Have Entered Europe since 2008

At least 9,427,470 so-called "asylum seekers"—almost all from the Third World—have lodged asylum claims in the European Union (EU) from 2008 to September 2024, an analysis of statistics from the EU's official statistical bureau, Eurostat, has revealed. Men aged 18-34 years accounted for 39 percent of the total number of first-time applicants, while of children aged less than 14 years, 51 percent were boys and 49 percent were girls. Most children aged 14-17 years were boys (73.5 percent) and 26.5 percent were girls. Syrians remained the largest group of people seeking asylum, followed by Venezuelans, Afghans, and Turks. Germany, Spain, Italy, and France continue to receive the highest number of asylum applicants, accounting for 71 percent of all first-time applicants in the EU.
