In 2008 Richard Williamson, a bishop of the traditional Catholic Society of St. Pius X, made a side remark about his disbelief in the orthodox Holocaust narrative. The resulting media outrage led to Williamson’s criminal prosecution in Germany for “Holocaust Denial.” The case has been in the courts for three years now with no end in sight.
